LED Filament Globes

A carbon filament globe uses traditional incandescent technology and consumes more power while producing significant heat. An LED filament globe recreates the exposed-filament appearance using more energy-efficient LED technology.

The shape can affect how the light is distributed and whether the globe fits inside a shade. However, the lumen rating remains the best way to compare overall brightness.

A decorative globe is designed to be visible as part of the fitting. Common examples include oversized globes, candle shapes, tinted glass, filament globes and patterned glass designs.

Extra warm colour temperatures between approximately 2200K and 2700K create a softer amber appearance commonly associated with vintage lighting.

Some decorative LED globes are dimmable, but this must be confirmed in the specifications. A compatible dimmer is also required.
